A new design for a traveling-wave Zeeman decelerator: I. Theory

چکیده
The concept of a novel traveling wave Zeeman deccelerator based on double-helix wire geometry capable decelerating paramagnetic species with high efficiency is presented. A moving magnetic trap created by running time-dependent currents through the decelerator coils. Paramagnetic in low-field-seeking states are confined traps and transported to end programmable velocities. Here, we present theoretical foundations underlying working principle traveling-trap decelerator. Using trajectory simulations, characterise performance new device explore conditions for phase-space stability molecules.
